The man that brought you an article about the US President makes his return to P&P with the following tips for the upcoming NFL week and throws in a couple of College games for good measure. Get around them!!
BAL Ravens ($1.15) vs CLE Browns ($5.75)
Round 4 of the NFL season kicks off on Friday morning with Baltimore Ravens hosting the Cleveland Browns. Having won eight straight over the Browns, they look certain to add to their 2-1 season record. Having won 13 straight in Baltimore, ESPN rates Ravens an 86% favourites, and their QB Joe Flacco is projected for 2 Touchdowns and 250 passing yards.
Best bet – BAL Ravens money line paying $1.15
Punters bet – BAL Ravens points spread of -11.5points paying $1.90
N.E Patriots ($1.44) vs BUF Bills ($2.85)
Behind QB Tom Brady, the Patriots have started 1-2 from the first 3 games, and below .500 for the first time since 2003. At risk of their first three-game losing streak in almost a decade, expect Brady to step it up once again and get the Pats back to .500. ESPN rates the N.E Patriots a 66% favourite of winning away from home.
Best bet – N.E Patriots money line paying $1.44
Punters bet – N.E Patriots points spread of -4 points paying $1.90
DEN Broncos ($1.34) vs OAK Raiders ($3.35)
With both teams records being 1-2, this game looks to be a beaut. Eli Manning plays his fourth game back from multiple neck surgery and is in for a tough game against the Raiders who had a great win last week against Pittsburgh Steelers. Manning vs Palmer will provide a shootout, as I see Manning carve up the terrible Raiders’ cornerbacks for big yardage. ESPN rate the Broncos a 66% favourite.
Best bet – DEN Broncos money line paying $1.34
Punters bet – DEN Broncos points spread of -6.5 points paying $1.90
NO Saints ($3.70) vs GB Packers ($1.29)
After an astonishing end against Seattle Seahawks, the Packers will go in feeling robbed and looking to take their anger out on the lacklustre Saints. As good as Drew Brees has been in previous years, he is in for a long year and a long day against Clay Matthews and company. ESPN rate the Packers a 76% favourite.
Best bet – GB Packers money line paying $1.29
Punters bet – GB Packers points spread of -7.5 points paying $1.90
SEA Seahawks ($1.71) vs STL Rams ($2.20)
A controversial win to the Seahawks against GB on Monday night provide a cloud to a very strong defensive effort that sacked MVP QB Aaron Rodgers 8 times. The Rams defense should keep this close against the Seattle offense, but Seattle’s defense is one of the best in the league. ESPN rates Seahawks a 66% favourite.
Best bet – Seahawks money line paying $1.71
Punters bet – Seahawks points spread of -3 points paying $2.10
Stanford (8)($1.38) vs Washington ($3.15)
#8 seed Stanford looks to continue their excellent defense last week against USC (#2) and Matt Barkley. The transition from losing Andrew Luck to the NFL with the No. 1 overall draft pick and several other NFL calibre players, has seemed to be transparent as the Cardinals have moved from #21 to #8 ranked team in the Nation.
Best bet – Stanford money line paying $1.28
Punters bet – Stanford points spread of -6.5 paying $1.90
Ohio St (14)($2.25) vs Michigan St (20)($1.68)
What a game we have on our hands. Ranked teams #14 plays #20, in what is expected to be a nail biting battle. Both teams have looked less than impressive in their last four outings, but tipsters are rating a close Ohio State victory over the Spartans (MI State).
Best bet – Ohio State point spread of +3.0 points paying $1.86
Punters bet – Ohio State money line paying $2.25
Alabama (1)($1.90 -29.5) vs Ole Miss ($1.90 +29.5)
With a scoring differential of 168-21 over the last four weeks, the number 1 team in the Nation looks set to continue their domination over Ole Miss. Ole Miss offense fired last week winning 39-0 against Tulane, but scoring as freely against the second best defense in the nation will be a tough ask. Ole Miss Coach Hugh Freeze is a magician with a lot of talent to work with and should keep within the points spread given to them. Having said that watch Alabama QB A.J. McCarron pick apart Ole Miss for a high scoring affair.
Best bet – Ole Miss points spread of +29.5 points paying $1.90
Clemson (17)($1.28) vs Boston College ($3.75)
Clemson Tigers started like a house on fire against Florida State last week scoring 5 TD’s in the opening quarter. Another strong defensive effort will hold Boston College under 13 points, as the Tigers will score easily down the other end.
Best bet – Clemson money line paying $1.28
Punters bet – Score under 61 points paying $1.90
N.E. Patriots win $1.44
DEN Broncos win $1.34
SEA Seahawks win $1.71
Stanford win $1.28
Clemson win $1.28
Paying $5.40. Put a $20 on it = $108
